ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Janet Windsor graduated from Scripps College with a degree in painting & weaving. She had a long career as a graphic designer in Cincinnati. Recently retired to Sea Ranch on the north Sonoma coast, she is pursuing her love of quilting and painting. She has been quilting since 1987 and painting since she was two. She has combined her graphic design skills with quilting in some of her pieces, which are manipulations of photographs taken by her husband David. The photographs are digitally altered and inkjet printed on silk, then quilted and embellished. The newest direction in her work is abstract, geometric pieces, pieced in cotton and based on texture photographs taken in Southeast Asia.
