Alicemarie Mutrux

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Alicemarie Mutrux loves to paint the timelessness of California—its endless beaches, nineteenth century buildings, wildlife, farms and cities. She searches for realism, harmonious color relationships, humor and design. She has studied extensively with Craig Nelson, Bill Maughan and Brien Blood at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Her husband, Philippe Mutrux, an architect and watercolor painter has influenced her paintings as well and taught her to see the essence of structures.

Alicemarie paints mostly in oils on canvas in a small rooftop studio in San Francisco and on location.
