ARTIST STATEMENT My name is Antoinette (Toni) Cochran. From an early age I had a love of painting. My parents and Aunt would buy me paint by numbers sets which would keep me happily occupied for hours. In school years I worked on many projects involving artistic design and execution. I earned a BA in Art History from SFSU and assisted in the Conservation lab at MOMA when it was on Van Ness Ave. A 40 year flight attendant for Northwest Airlines I have continued to complete many classes at Skyline College.- watercolor, oil painting and portraits in pastel. I hope to express color contrast and light in my work with the beauty of nature as a vehicle. The Impressionists are still my favorite artists but also appreciate whimsical and realistic works .
